The Honorable Order of Universal Co-Masonry, also known as the American Federation of Human Rights (A.F.H.R.), is an international fraternal Masonic organization that was established in 1994. It originated as a national Federation of Le Droit Humain, an international order of mixed co-freemasonry. The organization is headquartered in Larkspur, Colorado.

The organization’s Masonic Government ensures the maximum liberty compatible with a voluntarily accepted discipline and is organized upon the precepts of the Ancient Mystery Schools, the Scottish Rite, and the English Rite. The organization’s main goal is to realize on earth the highest degree of moral, intellectual, and spiritual development for all individuals.

Membership Requirements

The Honorable Order of Universal Co-Masonry has no specific membership requirements based on race, religion, creed, or sexual orientation. It is open to both men and women who are fraternally united and the organization is based on the principles of tradition, morality, self-improvement, fellowship, fraternity, charity, and leadership.

To join a Universal Co-Masonry lodge, the process is similar to joining any other Masonic lodge. Prospective members are required to reach out and contact a Universal Co-Masonic lodge in their area, which will inform them about the requirements and application process.

However, there is a minimum age requirement for joining, which is between 21-28 years old (depending on Jurisdiction will define the age), and it is open to anyone who is involved in the technical, scientific, design, construction, or manufacturing aspects of masonry.

Co-Freemasonry is a form of Freemasonry that admits both men and women, however, most male-only Masonic Lodges do not recognize Universal Co-Freemasonry, considering it to be irregular or clandestine.
