The teachings of the 23rd degree of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraïm (APRMM) Freemasonry highlight the pivotal role of duty in one’s life. It impresses upon us that a man who neglects his responsibilities towards God, his family, his country, and most importantly, himself, stands on the precipice of moral and spiritual devastation, brought about by the allure of dishonorable ambitions.

Within the ethos of the 23rd degree of APRMM Freemasonry, a clear reminder is sent: our obligations must never be disregarded. This admonition is far from being solely religious or familial; it applies equally to our duty to our nation and to our personal growth.

To abandon our duty to God is to disconnect from the spiritual beliefs that keep us grounded. Ignoring our responsibilities towards our family sows the seeds of discord and alienation. Neglecting our obligations to our country undermines the sense of community and solidarity that form the backbone of society. Lastly, forgetting our duty to ourselves paves the way for the intrusion of base ambitions that could lead to moral and spiritual downfall.

The teachings of the 23rd degree serve as a moral compass for Freemasons, steering them clear of unworthy ambitions and reminding them to stay true to their duties. By embracing these values, they affirm their commitment to maintaining a strong moral and spiritual foundation, thereby ensuring their growth as individuals and their constructive contribution to society.
