Sir Douglas Nicholls KCVO OBE JP:
Born – Cummeragunja Reserve, New South Wales 1906 ~ 1988

A prominent Aboriginal Australian from the Yorta Yorta People. He was a professional athlete, Governor of South Australia, and prominent Indigenous Australian, pioneering reconciliation. First Australian Aboriginal to be knighted and the first to serve in vice-regal office. In 1934, 3rd in Brownlow count 1935 first Aboriginal selected Victorian Interstate Team.
